TRAINING
Bea started in halter classes as a yearling and progressed
quickly to halter showmanship classes. At some of the
open shows she was borrowed by several different people
so they could try being in the show ring. They were thrilled to
leave with ribbons more often than not.  With her powerful
hindquarters and good strong inner gaskin, she stands out
in the show arena.  She has a soft, fluid way of going that
makes her worth watching.

Started under saddle in December 2007 and even though
only ridden lightly, she had a wonderful 2008 show season.
2009 and 2010 we did not show as much, but Bea still
excelled - earning many trophies, certificates and high point
awards.

Bea is quite a strong mare with a huge but very smooth
stride.  She responds well to the leg and has good lateral
movements.  She has inherited her father's ability to really
lift and extend her trot.
Her western pleasure gaits are coming along as she
continues to learn balance and cadence.  We do not use
tack gimmicks, and with my limited time, teaching takes a
little longer.  She has now transitioned from the bosal to a
shank bit and is responding well.
MEDICAL HISTORY
Bea had an allergic
reaction to something
in her tail in July 2009
and it all fell out.  It is
growing back even
thicker than it was and
is now long enough so
she can wear a tail
extension.

The good side was that
her huge gaskin
muscle was very visible
to the judges

Bea is healthy and
sound.  She is an easy
keeper with good strong
feet and legs. She has
never been ill and is
current with her
deworming and
vaccinations, including
West Nile.
Bea got her formal name when I came to visit one
morning and she was watching me between the fence
boards.   We were already calling her Bea and the "all
ready behind bars"  tied in the names of both her sire
and dam nicely.  We now call her Beamer short
because she is just as smooth as a BMW!!

Bea has often been shown in halter and halter
showmanship for us by other people.  Bea is
wonderful to handle on the ground,  knows
her job and listens well to whoever is holding
her halter.  Photo at two years.

Just hanging out in our back yard.  Wondering
why her sister broke the fence trying to eat the
grass on the other side.
2010 was a great show year.  In addition to many high point trophies, Bea earned THREE top ten awards in the APHA PAC program.
